Developmental Projects
Our elementary developmental project took place at G.W. Carver Elementary School in Pinetops, North Carolina. To complete the developmental project, we were tasked with learning about the growth and development of Pre-K through 5th grade students. During the project process, we identified important vocabulary and physical and cognitive development milestones. Another one of our goals was to identify what resources are available to parents and families to support their students. By completing this project, I was reminded of the importance of keeping school lively and fun!

To fulfill requirements for our middle school developmental project, we visited A. G. Cox Middle School in Winterville, North Carolina. To complete the developmental project, we were tasked with learning about the growth and development of 6th through 8th grade students. During our visit, we shadowed two students to understand physical, cognitive, and social developmental changes from their perspective. We were also able to speak to five teachers who share their experiences in working with this age group and the implications their understands had on student learning. By completing this project, I believe it is essential to review discipline practices as it relates students children developmental milestones at the age and student engagement.
