Campus Beautification Day: Research suggests that when students feel good about their school and its appearance, there is a positive student academic outcome for most students. As a member of the administrative team, we believed that it was necessary to not only improve the overall quality of the appearance of our campus, but to also involve all stakeholders in the process. As such, we decided to plan and host a Campus Beautification Day to allow staff, students, parents, and community members the opportunity to make a difference in their community by planting flowers and other various plants on campus. I worked with our Media Specialist to create the flyer below in addition to securing donations for various flowers that were planted. Below are the following artifacts: the flyer sent to local businesses, parents, staff members and to invite them to the event, the Campus Beautification Donated Items spreadsheet to keep track of the donors who donated specific flowers, and photos from the event.
